Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC) Program

The Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC) Program’s purpose is to improve the experience of individuals and families, and to ensure more consistent access to information and services for people who speak different languages or come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 4620.4 provides $16.7 million in ongoing funding to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This funding supports regional centers in improving and expanding language access and cultural competency services for individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as their caregivers and families.
