Early Childhood (Birth to 5 years)

Supporting Growth, Learning, and Development from Birth to Age 3

Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC) partners with families to support infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, or those at risk of delay. Our goal is to help each child thrive through early identification, family-centered planning, and individualized support that promote learning, growth, and inclusion at home and in the community.

Every child eligible for Early Start has a planning team that includes the child’s parents or guardians, the VMRC Service Coordinator, and any other family members or professionals the family chooses to include. Together, the team develops an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that identifies the child’s developmental goals and the support needed to help the family meet those goals.

VMRC provides a wide range of services for children from birth to age 3:

  • Family Training and Support – Guidance and resources for parents to build skills and confidence in supporting their child’s development.
  • Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy – Individualized therapy services designed to enhance growth and daily functioning.
