The James R. Popplewell Fund was created in 2012 to honor Dr. James R. Popplewell, a beloved advocate and former VMRC Medical Director. It provides emergency support for clients when regional center funds cannot be used, helping cover urgent needs—such as housing, medical care, or other essential expenses—that might put independent community living at risk. Help may be given as a short-term no-interest loan or a small gift.
